History, Pan Africana Studies, Philosophy, and Religion Department

History, philosophy, and religion are closely related fields. They comprise the study of humanity: where we've been, who we are, and, ultimately, how we can make our communities and our world better for everyone

Lincoln University's History, Pan Africana Studies, Philosophy, and Religion Department is dedicated to providing you with a strong foundation of knowledge in these important subjects that can not only prepare you for further study but also provide valuable perspective and critical thinking skills that can help you in a wide variety of jobs and careers.

As a historically black college or university (HBCU) with its own unique story, Lincoln gives you the opportunity to not just study history but be a part of an institution that's entwined with America's past and where numerous influential politicians and thinkers have walked the halls. That proud history and our dedicated faculty will guide and inspire you as you pursue a major in one of our four primary programs: History, Pan-Africana Studies, Philosophy, and Religion.

Bachelor of Science (BS) and Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees are offered in each program, as well as minors in all but Pan-Africana Studies. In addition, we also offer minors in Black Studies, International Relations, and Ethics.
